BIO

Dr Srikanth Mateti is a materials scientist at Deakin University’s Institute for Frontier Materials, specialising in mechanochemistry-enabled nanomaterials for clean-energy and sustainable technologies. His research covers solid-state hydrogen storage, gas adsorption and separation, energy-storage materials, thermal management, scalable two-dimensional materials, and boron nitride nanosheets and nanotubes.

 

  • My overall record includes 63 peer-reviewed journal publications, 10 papers under review, 4,073 citations, h-index 33, i10-index 52 and an average of 56.6 citations per paper.
  • My papers have appeared in leading journals including Progress in Materials Science, Materials Today, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Energy, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Materials Horizons.
  • More than 87% of my publications are in top-quartile (Q1) journals.
  • My overall FWCI is 2.20, above Deakin’s benchmark of 1.7 and Australia’s benchmark of 1.5.

  • One patent has been licensed to White Graphene Ltd, demonstrating translation beyond publication.

 

Dr Mateti developed patented gas-assisted mechanochemical methods for scalable nanosheet production and new solvent-free approaches for gas storage and separation. His licensed technology is being developed for coatings, corrosion protection and hydrogen-barrier applications. He also leads research to scale a one-kilogram solid-state hydrogen-storage module and contributes to battery materials, recycled silicon anodes, boron nitride composites and advanced manufacturing.

 

He collaborates with researchers and organisations across 42 countries and supervises PhD, Master’s and undergraduate researchers. He also contributes to postgraduate teaching, research mentoring, laboratory safety, instrument training, editorial service and industry-linked research translation.
