RESEARCH INTERESTS

I work within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (Burwood Campus) and my research focus is on the physiology of stress and the molecular cell biology of cancer. Current projects that I am leading include:

1. "Assessing the effect of exercising skeletal muscle secretions on cancer cellsas having a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that link exercise with its anti-cancer effects could be beneficial for the thousands of women currently living with breast and ovarian cancer in Australia.

2. "Development of a novel diagnostic test to assess targeted drug treatment options in breast cancer" which builds on my research that identified a new, stress-related protein in breast cancer that has potential to be developed into a biomarker to guide treatment and improve patient survival.
