TEACHING EXPERTISE

I gain immense satisfaction from helping to develop students’ understanding of topics. My teaching philosophy centres around the idea that any subject area, however complex, can be understood if it is explained in a simple and logical manner that is easily accessible for the student. I have over 20 years of tertiary teaching experience in a wide variety of anatomy and physiology-based units in Exercise Science, Biomedical Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Nursing and Midwifery including units such as Anatomy and Physiology, Functional Anatomy, Human Physiology, Pathophysiology, Growth and Early Development (including fetal and pregnancy physiology), as well as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Reproductive Biology and Genetics. I am currently the Unit Chair for the Masters level unit HSN749 Biochemistry and Physiology for Human Nutrition at Deakin University.
