TEACHING EXPERTISE

Sherrica is an experienced and dedicated educator in the field of psychology. Currently serving as Unit Chair for HPS328, the School of Psychology's Work-Integrated Learning unit, she guides students in choosing placements and successfully completing them to ensure they gain experience that will be invaluable to their career pathways upon completion of their degrees. Sherrica has also been teaching at Deakin since 2019, working across a range of units, including HBS110, HPS104, and HPS204, both on-campus and online. Her flexible teaching style and ability to build strong relationships with students have earned her positive feedback and recognition. In 2023, she was promoted to Senior Tutor for HBS110, where she assisted with unit administration tasks and moderated other markers to ensure consistency in grading.

Additionally, Sherrica works as a Placement Coordinator in the Master of Psychology (Organisational) team.

Sherrica's teaching approach focuses on delivering content effectively, implementing engaging activities, and facilitating meaningful discussions. She is committed to continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices, as evidenced by her attainment of AFHEA status. Additionally, she regularly volunteers as a mentor and observer for new tutors, contributing to the School of Psychology’s Tutor Training Program. Her dedication to education is further demonstrated by her ongoing pursuit of a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) at Swinburne University.
