RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr Hossain’s research interests centre on applied artificial intelligence for real-world decision-making systems, with a focus on autonomous systems, computer vision, trustworthy AI, and machine learning for sensor-rich environments. He is particularly interested in developing AI methods that can operate reliably in practical settings, including autonomous vehicles, onboard satellite processing, defence applications, and human-centred intelligent systems. His work also extends to transfer learning, active learning, uncertainty estimation, and brain-computer interfaces, with an emphasis on reducing data requirements, improving model reliability, and translating research outcomes into deployable AI solutions.
He is currently working on onboard AI, AI in Drone and AI in Edge device.
