BIO
Mikayla Milanovic is an esteemed academic and researcher specialising in organic chemistry, with a particular focus on synthesis and forensic application. Currently, Mikayla is a Lecturer in Forensic Science at Deakin University, teaching across general science, chemistry and forensic units.
Holding a PhD in Chemistry from Deakin University, Mikayla brings 7 years of research experience in organic synthesis and collaborative projects with Victoria Police Forensic Services Department. In 2025, she was awarded the Ian Riebeling Memorial Award at the ANZFSS symposium with the best presentation from a new practitioner.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Mikayla has been involved in outreach programs aimed at promoting STEM education in schools and supporting women in STEM.
Mikayla is a current member of the Australian New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZFSS), Chartered Society of Forensic Science (CSFS) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
