TEACHING EXPERTISE
Mikayla was awarded an Associate Fellow of the High Education Academy (AFHEA) in 2023. In recognition of the attainment of the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education: HEA Fellowships demonstrate a personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education.
As a sessional academic during her time completing her PhD at Deakin University, Mikayla delivered weekly tutorials for first year chemistry units and has experience as a laboratory demonstrator in six undergraduate chemistry units (including Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemist's Toolbox and Synthetic and Medical Chemistry).
As a Lecturer of Forensic Science, Mikayla has taught across second and third year forensic units inluding SLE228, SLE313, SLE356 and SLE454.
Mikayla is currently the co-supervisor for two honours students and two PhD students. If you're interested in working under Mikayla's supervision, please get in touch (please note I am unable to be the primary supervisor for PhD students).
