RESEARCH INTERESTS
A/Prof Macdonald conducts research in the following areas:
* Men's and fathers' mental health and wellbeing: Family history and individual factors that influence the experience of fathering and predict paternal behaviours and mental health problems (e.g., risk for depression, anxiety, stress, substance use and anger) and wellbeing (e.g., positive work/family balance, purpose in life, secure family attachments, social connection and engagement)
* Longitudinal and intergenerational pathways of boys' and men's development.
* Men's and fathers' access to health care; system barriers and enablers to supporting boys and men.
