Jessamy's areas of research include:

  • Contemporary and historic feminisms
  • Media and communication platforms as forms of resistance

 

Jessamy's research asks how gender inequality is produced and challenged, and combines feminist approaches with questions of Indigenous knowledge, trauma, care and institutional change. On a broad level, her work considers how power operates in everyday cultural and educational institutions, and how activism and research can challenge that power without reproducing other inequalities.
