RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr Kerui Zhai’s research examines how governance structures, managerial characteristics, information environments, and institutional arrangements shape organisational behaviour, corporate decision-making, and economic outcomes. He is particularly interested in how firms and market participants respond to incentives, regulation, stakeholder pressures, information uncertainty, and technological change. Through empirical research across diverse institutional settings, Dr Zhai aims to generate insights that advance academic understanding and inform regulators, investors, businesses, professional bodies, and policymakers.

  • Corporate reporting, sustainability, and capital markets
  • Supply chain finance, trade credit, and interfirm relationships
  • Financial analysts and information intermediaries
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Artificial intelligence, blockchain, and emerging technologies in business
