RESEARCH INTERESTS
Professor Scott's research is aimed at reducing the disease burden of sarcopenia, osteoporosis and obesity in older adults. He has led several clinical trials exploring the effects of exercise and nutrition interventions, including weight loss, on improving body composition, physical function and bone health in older populations. He has a keen interest in objective assessments of physical activity and musculoskeletal imaging and the use of digital health tools to support healthy and independent ageing. He is a member of the Committee of Scientific Advisors for the International Osteoporosis Foundation. He is also the Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Sarcopenia and Frailty Research's Sarcopenia Diagnosis and Management Task Force and has led several activities focused on improving clinical awareness and management of sarcopenia.
