DrBingqing XIONG

Bingqing Xiong is a Senior Lecturer at Deakin Business School. Her research focuses on digital platforms, innovation creation, and the operations–marketing interface. She studies how digital technologies and platform-based interactions shape market performance, operational capability, customer engagement, and the creation, validation, and commercialisation of new ideas.

Her current research examines digital platforms as environments where innovation is created, evaluated, and delivered. Her research contexts include crowdfunding platforms, mobile app ecosystems, retail operations, online media, e-commerce, and user-generated content communities. Methodologically, Bingqing uses large-scale digital trace data, econometric modelling, causal inference, experiments, machine learning, and natural language processing.

Bingqing’s research has appeared in international journals such as the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Decision Support Systems (DSS), and Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JAIST), as well as in the proceedings of leading management and information systems conferences, including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting (AOM), the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), and the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS).

She currently serves as Co-Course Director for the Master of Business Analytics. She teaches and coordinates analytics-related units, including Marketing Analytics and Enterprise Database, Architecture and Governance, and contributes to the academic community through course leadership, research supervision, peer review, conference engagement, and university service.
