DrJe Sen Teh

I am a Lecturer and Associate Course Suite Director of Cyber Security in the School of Information Technology at Deakin University. My work spans teaching, research, supervision, and academic leadership, with a focus on cryptography, cyber security, curriculum quality, and student success. My research centres on symmetric-key cryptanalysis, lightweight cryptography, and post-quantum cryptography.

I have published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in leading cryptography and cybersecurity venues, including IEEE Transactions on Computers and IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, and conferences such as SAC, ACNS and ACISP. My work has accumulated over 2781 citations with an H-index of 26 as of July 2026.

Since joining Deakin in late 2023, I have been awarded over AUD $1 million in research funding as a lead investigator and Chief Investigator on projects spanning post-quantum cryptography, AI-enabled cybersecurity, and cryptanalysis. This includes work that supports post-quantum readiness, secure digital infrastructure, and emerging approaches to AI-enabled cyber threats.

I have graduated 8 PhD and 9 MSc research candidates, and currently supervise 4 PhD candidates.

Alongside research and supervision, I contribute to course leadership as the Associate Course Suite Director of Cyber Security through curriculum development, quality assurance, student experience initiatives, teaching team coordination, and the ongoing growth of the cyber security discipline at Deakin. I also serve as Program Coordinator for the Deakin-Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) international branch campus, supporting transnational education delivery, learning design quality, and academic alignment across contexts.
