DrAlessandro Zambelli

Alex brings over three decades of teaching experience in architecture and interior design across undergraduate and postgraduate design studio, history and theory/architectural humanities, and professional practice, including year leadership and subject and unit coordination. His teaching promotes inclusive, interdisciplinary studio cultures that link design with critical research and practice. In Australia, he has led design studios and supervised research theses at the Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne, served as an Atelier Leader at Deakin University, and currently teaches at RMIT University. His earlier UK career included senior teaching roles at the Universities of Brighton — where he also led the early career researcher group — Kingston, Westminster, East London and Portsmouth, alongside dissertation tutoring at the Bartlett, UCL. He has served as a professional examiner for RIBA Part 3 at Kingston, Westminster, Brighton and the CASS, and remains a regular guest critic and lecturer at institutions in the UK and Australia.
