BIO

Based within the Institute for Health Transformation, Marshall is an Associate Professor within the ECORRA Program. As a rural health and cancer care researcher (APD, PhD) with a background as an academic researcher (17-years), rural clinician (8-years), industry research consultant (5-years), and research communicator (6-years), she has the unique background and the skills to successfully lead and deliver high performing research programs which make a measurable impact on health outcomes and systems. 

 

Marshall's academic research has focused on rural health, cancer care, integrative medicine, and ageging. Her specialist skills include stakeholder engagement, complex project management and governance, research communications, team mentorship and leadership, and broad research capability. She is an experienced supervisor and mentor, and has supervised >30 Masters and PhD candidates (100% successfully completed/passed). 

 

From 2024, A/Prof Marshall is the Project Manager for the 5-year $4.9M MRFF funded project "Equitable Cancer Outcomes for Rural and Remote Australia (ECORRA) Trial". As Project Manager, Marshall enables success and impact by building and supporting multispecialist transdisciplinary early-mid career research teams, facilitating synergy across research phases and related projects, establishing digital and responsive project management systems, and nurturing meaningful collaborations with our 80+ stakeholders, partners, and consumers.
