DrRosey Chang

Dr Rosey Chang is a Lecturer in Graduate Researcher (GR) Development at the Researcher Development Academy, Deakin University. Rosey holds a broad range of interdisciplinary interests in doctoral education, researcher development, and contemplative studies across two lines of theory and research:

· Doctoral candidate development: identity and agency, thesis writing and agency, inclusive education, researcher development curriculum and practice

· Contemplative studies interweaving critical Buddhist studies, mindfulness science, and writing education: writing as a mindfulness approach  

Rosey completed her PhD at Monash University in 2024, where she explored interconnections between the act of writing and mindfulness practice with a focus on the emotional experiences of writing. The project outputs included mixed-methods empirical research, a mindfulness training curriculum and a creative artefact.

Rosey has a record of publications that include peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference papers. Publications include co-authoring with colleagues in STEM, particularly at the former Engineering Practice Academy (Swinburne University) and the Faculty of Medicine Bio-Medical Multimedia Unit (The University of Melbourne).
