TEACHING EXPERTISE

Claire provides academic leadership across Deakin University’s mental health course portfolio as Course Director, supporting curriculum coherence, academic quality, student experience and continuous improvement. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate mental health nursing and works collaboratively with academic and clinical colleagues to ensure curricula remain contemporary, evidence-informed, clinically relevant and responsive to professional and workforce needs.

 

Her teaching and scholarship focus particularly on mental health nursing, simulation-based education, mental health assessment, clinical preparedness and workforce capability. Claire leads the $50,000 LATN Open Educational Resources initiative to develop a national open-access mental health simulation library for universities and health services.

 

Claire is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and supervises PhD and Honours students. She also mentors emerging academics and clinician researchers in research methodology, evidence synthesis, scholarly writing and publication.
