RESEARCH INTERESTS
My current research interests include (this is a non-exhaustive list):
- Understanding the development of core-shell particles in Aluminium alloys using a combination of experiments and models.
- Understanding and predicting Microstructure development during additive friction stir deposition of aluminium alloys.
- Understanding impact of precipitates on strain localisation and plastic instabilities in Al-Mg alloys.
- Understanding the mechanisms controlling the quench sensitivity of Al-Mg-Si alloys and how to improve quench sensitivity of these alloys.
- Optimising the response of Al-Mg-Si alloys to brazing, particularly by adapting the homogenisation treatment to avoid incipient melting.
