RESEARCH INTERESTS
Professor White's research covers a broad range of topics across the field of cancer control. Her researhc aims to reduce the impact of cancer at the society and individual level by focusing on identifying behavioural and social factors that increase or decrease the risk of cancer; factors that increase or decrease the likelihood of early detection of cancer, factors associated with delivery of optimal cancer care, the impact of cancer on patients and their carers and identifying effective interventions to ensure optimal quality of life outcomes for those affected by cancer (patients and carers). Her research has focused on a range of cancer related behaviours including smoking, alcohol use, and development and testing of supportive care programs. She has substantial experience in conducting systematic reviews and has utilised a range of research designs including randomised control trials, longitudinal,cross-sectional and qualitative research designs.
