RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mohammadreza Mohebbi joined Deakin Biostatistics Unit in April 2013 as a
senior research fellow. As a biostatistician he leads quantitative aspects of
study design and analysis of large population-based cohort studies, clinical
trials and statistical issues related to survey data.
Mohammadreza's research has focused on the development of statistical methods
for the analysis of large observational data with the goal of addressing
challenging method questions in quantitative psychology, psychometric, and
clinical trials. He is an expert in Bayesian methods, longitudinal data
analysis, geo-spatial modelling, and Bayesian hierarchical models. He has
extensive experience on the development of statistical methods and their
applications to epidemiology, biomedical research, randomised controlled
trials, psychiatric research, and epidemiological study designs. Mohammadreza
has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications.
Mohammadreza is currently biostatistician in 7 NHMRC funded grants (project
grants, partnership grant and NRFF grants), and 5 industry grants and as well
as several Deakin internal projects. He led 10 PhD candidates and 1 doctorate
in clinical psychology to completion at Deakin. He is currently associate
