RESEARCH INTERESTS
Prof Timperio's research is focused on understanding the range of influences on physical activity, active travel and sedentary behaviour, particularly among children and adolescents, and over critical life transition periods. She is involved in several longitudinal studies that examine individual, social and environmental influences on these behaviours. She has a strong interest in the role of the neighbourhoods and public open space in shaping active living. Prof Timperio's other research interests include the measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviour and evaluation of health promotion and public health interventions.
